Samsø Offshore Wind Facility

ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum

The ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum is an art museum in Aarhus, Denmark. The museum was established in 1859 and is the oldest public art museum in Denmark outside Copenhagen.

We had a reception dinner in the museum restaurant followed by a tour of the gallery. My favourite exhibits were "Boy"  and "Rainbow Panorama"

Siemens Manufacturing Facilities

I toured Siemens manufacturing facilities in Esbjerg and Brande today. Astounding technology and the scale of the components was hard to believe.

Early Start

The sun comes up very early this time of year in Denmark - first light was before 4am. Our study tour is headed to an offshore facility at Esbjerg Harbour which is about 3 hours from Copenhagen.

The Bridge

It is no secret that one of my favourite shows on Netflix is The Bridge.  It cost about $35 Canadian to get a return train ticket from Copenhagen to Malmo via the Øresund Bridge.

Lego

Obligatory shots of a Lego street scene in the State of Green offices in Denmark.

Malmö Sweden

It was super easy to take the train from Copenhagen Central Station to Malmö central.

Windmill near Malmö castle

Malmo castle (Malmöhus Castle) is Scandinavia´s oldest surviving Renaissance castle.  Denmark´s coins were minted here in the Middle Ages and here Crown Prince Frederick held wild parties in the 16th century. Prisoners were beheaded in the courtyard in the 19th century.

  • Flew Toronto to Copenhagen
  • Managed to buy a ticket for the metro
  • Got lost on the metro but was able to self correct
  • Am at an outdoor Cafe close to the hotel about to order some food and a Danish beer.

All of the above on no sleep.
